Instagram Reels – Alternative to Tiktok??

Instagram Reels – Alternative to Tiktok??

Soon after Tiktok ban in India, a famous photo, video-sharing app Instagram has launched reels – a new feature on its Android and iOS platforms. It lets users shoot videos of 15 seconds or less just like TikTok. Users can add filters, audio and can share it beyond their own followers.

As per the VP of Facebook, reels came from the fact that 45% of the videos on Instagram are 15 seconds or less which simply means people enjoy creating short video content. Reels made can also be shared outside of the Instagram platform. There is no monetization available as of now.

This feature has already been rolled out in Brazil, France, and Germany before India.

So to get started with this feature just hit the camera icon in your Instagram app and you will see an option next to the story option as “reels”. You can create a short video and can embed music from the Instagram library itself. We can also search from the available list of audios/ songs. Now apply the filters you want, set the duration of your clip not more than 15 seconds and you are good to go.

The vacuum created by the ban on TikTok led to the increased demand for similar video sharing apps. Let’s see if reels fill it.
